learn about: maheshwari saris
Maheshwar in the southwest of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The saris produced in this region are both cotton & silk but notable for the gold thread (zari) that is used in the borders and for the geometric patterns used. These saris are also distinguishable because the saris (particularly the borders) use designs that are engraved on the walls of the Maheshwar fort.
